Gloria Li won the title of Miss Chinese Toronto 2016


1st runner up- Cassandra Cheung, Champion- Gloria Li、2nd runner up- Victoria Wong

On Friday November 18th, Gloria Li won Miss Chinese Toronto 2016. Aged 24 Gloria not only won the coveted title of Miss Chinese Toronto she also beat her fellow contestants to embrace the “Volvo Canada The Most Charming Award” and the “Bigen Silky Hair Award”. Gloria is currently working in a marketing and PR company and is now getting ready to represent Toronto to compete in Miss Chinese International 2017 which will be held in Malaysia. Cassandra Cheung, age 22 was the 1st Runner up and also won the Most Brilliant Smile Award. Victoria Wong, age 26 was named 2nd Runner up and took home the Miss Congeniality award. And Linda, age 24 a pharmacist won the Miss Photogenic award.

In the Pageant the two local well known emcees Leo Shiu and Qin Yi were partnered with the veteran TV program host from Hong Kong Kenneth Chan who has been in the entertainment industry for over thirty years. It is the unbeatable mix of emcees combination for the Pageant. The panel of judges consists of the General Manager of Big Honor Entertainment Ltd Mr. Tom Chiu, Famous Singer Ms. Angela Fong, Professional Photographer Mr. Franklin Lau, Celebrity Runway Model Ishie Wang, and the Society Contributions Award winner in Mandarin Profile Award Presentation 2016 Dr. Jiang Wan. Last but not least, Charted Accountant Mr. Alexis Yam, as the pageant official auditor.

The Pageant kicked off with a video showing a talented scientist experimenting human cloning in the laboratory. Ten beautiful young ladies appeared on stage with glamour. Dancers did a fabulous robotic dance along with the ten contenders. Their stiff swaying looked cohesive and added to the energy flow of the opening dance which created epic visual interest.

Cosplay was another focus of the Pageant this year. Each of the ten finalists dressed up in cosplay outfits and coordinated with matching weapons, swords, wigs, jewelry, shoes, and boots to represent a character in video games such as princess, warriors, military generals/advisors, and so forth. The cosplay suits are not only matched with weapons and wigs but also paired with artsy makeup. All finalists were wearing matching color of lipsticks to go with their costumes.

#2 Vincy, a military advisor wore two-piece black top and pants with brownish leather belts on her thigh and upper body to accessorize the whole costume

#5 Sally, with a yellow color wig, a white wrap around long half skirt and a tube top represented the master with a bow sword

#7 Jessie, a long hair copper color wig, a pair of royal blue shorts with a front open wrap around and a same color crop top vest denoted a military advisor

#8 Rui, role-played a master in the woods with ocean blue color wig designed and fitted nicely on her

#10 Samantha, a green warrior in the forest marching with a pairing of green boots

In the Q&A segment finalists dressed in swimming suit beautified with stylish designed cover-ups. The turn-table in the vertical shaft revealed each finalist on stage. The beautiful swimming suit was unveiled when the two dancers were arranged to discreetly took off the cover ups. Each finalist appeared on stage to feature one country in the world with graphics background. Graphics were vivid and abound in details to match with each finalists swimming suit. They posed gracefully showing their exquisite body frames and provided the emcees with witty answers that proved their intelligence.

Ten finalists were team up in five pairs in the talent part. Two finalists encountered to perform her specialized talent. Audiences’ eyes were all glued to the stage.

William Hu, a popular singer and artist flew all the way from Hong Kong to meet with his fans. A fan of his could not contain his excitement that went on stage to take picture without realizing that the Pageant was live telecast. William sang four of his popular songs creating peaks to close out the evening. Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 ended with the tremendous support from the sponsors and the community at large.

Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 Photography Contest- Beauty Fashion is successfully held on November 5th at First Markham Place.

After Dream Cars with Beauty Photography Contest, Beauty Fashion is another theme of the contest this year, the event attracted more than 40 enthusiast photographers , professional photographers and excited audiences to First Markham Place. Pageant finalists are thrilled to see their families, friends, and lots of supporters and photographers at the event. They stepped out in their first outfit designed and hand –woven by Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 Image Consultant Clifford Yong. Clifford turned the colorful knitwear into hand selves, capes, and different forms, showcasing different mix and match on fall fashion look.

To be instyle in the Canadian winter, it’s not easy; artificial fur is the best choice to keep you warm and stylish. The finalists showcasing different winter garments made with artificial fur; providing audiences various ideas on the winter looks. Moreover, first runner up of New Talent Singing Awards 2014 Paul Cheng and Vocalibre 2015 Best Vocal Award winner Natalie Lam appeared at the Photography Contest, supporting the ten finalists and brought beautiful songs to the audiences.

Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 is honored to invite Jay Lau, a famous hat designer in Hong Kong to be the fashion show featured segment in the Photography Contest. Jay as a hat lover, she has always had an eye for finding beautiful hats. Each of her design pieces is hand crafted, unique and individual; she also collaborated with many well known figures in the music industry to create bespoke headpieces used in music videos and concerts performances. Jay carefully selected a few of her masterpieces, and styled the ten finalists into high fashion models in a split second presenting her beautiful hats, including My pink bunny, The Ocean Waves, Sunrise, Princess of the sea, White Orchid, The golden butterfly, The tea party, Elegant Kate, The dancing fairy, and Tip top. Drawing to a close of the event, the finalists voted for the Miss Congeniality.

Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016- Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Charity Visit


The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is selected for the first time as the Charity Partner of the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016. The ten pageant finalists visited Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to gain significant knowledge on the top quality cancer treatments and care programs.

The Vice President of Business Development – Steve Merker and the Vice President of Community Programs for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation – Laura Syron welcome ten pageant finalists for this meaningful event and led them for a tour on the core sectors of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Steve Merker started a briefing on the operations of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at atrium on the seventh floor, followed by a visit of Dr. Mak’s lab on the eighth floor. Dr. Mak’s lab focuses on “Immunotherapy”, Immunotherapy is a new treatment that stimulates the patient’s own immune system to fight cancer cells, and the Princess Margaret has the most comprehensive immunotherapy program in Canada.

Although Dr. Mak is unable to present, the finalists are happy to have the honor to visit his lab and experience the atmosphere of working in the laboratory on striking breakthroughs in crucial aspects of cancer. Next, the finalists follow radiotherapy staff’s footsteps to the basement, entering the half-foot-thick steel door into the radiation therapy room. Experiencing the radiotherapy environment surrounding with the professional equipments, the staff also detailed explained the process of radiation therapy and how the facility works. It broadens finalists’ eyes, the finalists are attentive and taking the initiative to ask questions, a valuable lesson indeed.

Then, finalists visit Wig Salon, a place specifically designed for chemotherapy patients suffering hair loss, providing fashionable wig, color hat and headcloth carefully designed base on patients need, to bring hope to patients and help regain their confidence. Lastly, the finalists visit the conference room and library on the eighteenth floor which is named by a kind cancer patient who passed away. The beautiful interior design with soft lighting, teak flooring, and elegant decorations created a very cozy feeling at the conference room, with the view overlooking the city through the window; it is nothing like the traditional conference room.

The ten finalists express that being a part of Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant is not only increasing their confidence and courage to face challenges, but also have the opportunity to learn from different areas; tour the top 5 cancer research centres in the world, and know more about the only comprehensive facility in Canada devoted exclusively to cancer research and patient care. They look forward to devote more of their time at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and work for those who’s in need.

Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant finalists visited Mon Sheong Foundation on October 19th, spent quality time with the seniors.

The finalists introduce themselves and pair up with seniors into groups for decoration activities. Contestants also prepared performances to showcase during the visit. Jessie plays piano, Cassandra plays bass clarinet, and Gloria and Victoria brought a cute Korean pop style dance. The seniors all had a whale of a time, full of laughers and fun.

Most anticipated and largest beauty pageant in Toronto- Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 is going to be held on Friday November 18, 2016 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 is organized by Fairchild TV and co-organized by Talentvision, Fairchild Radio and Popular Lifestyle Entertainment Magazine.「Genuinely Beautiful」is the slogan of the event this year; ten finalists had their first public appearance on October 19 at Angus Glen Golf Club.

After several rounds of auditions, the panel of judges carefully selected the ten finalists for Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016. The ten finalists started their journeys with a series of intensive trainings including pageant etiquette, public speaking, catwalk, skin care, makeup, choreography, image building, and etc. Having the complete makeover, the finalists will discover their own limitations and possibilities that lead them to their highest potential. They are working hard and pushing themselves everyday on any challenge to prep themselves into the best shape for the big day.

The latest promotional commercial premiere at the press conference, audience gets to see different looks of the ten finalists both in the commercials and in person. Each finalist had a quality time at Q & A section; showing their unique personality in front of the audience. They are beautiful from inside out. Each of them possesses with minimum university education, such as pharmacist, chiropractor, and some of them have modeling background or have huge talent on dancing and choreography. They come from different walks of life but yet have the same goal – that is vying for the coveted title of Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016.

2016 Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant


The much anticipated Beauty Pageant “2016 Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant” will be held on Friday November 18, 2016 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The Pageant is organized by Fairchild TV and co-organized by Talentvision, Fairchild Radio and Popular Lifestyle Entertainment Magazine. The Pageant will be live telecast as in the past years.

The final ten has been selected after several rounds of audition by the panel of judges. The ten finalists will be scheduled to take on an array of pageant related training sessions and promotional activities. Training will include skin care, makeup, etiquette, catwalk, choreography, and public speaking. And at the same time many of the promotional activities will be arranged in addition to those training.

“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” Photo Contest will be held for all photo fanatics to get up close and personal with the ten finalists.

William backpacked in Europe before settling in England 2001 until he lost his 80 years old foster parents to dementia in 2009, his brother-in-law was died from cancer and sister also diagnosed with cancer he then went back to Hong Kong to take care of them. In 2012 he came back as an independent singer with a new album “Keep Going”; a concert was also held in the same year organized by Big Honor Entertainment Ltd, the artist management company.

Chan had starred in the super hot three seasons of the My Date with a Vampire television series trilogy in 1998. He is also best known as the host of the Hong Kong version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001. As an individual artist, he is currently active in China and Hong Kong.
